Clean Behind Your Appliances
Follow these tips to clean behind your appliances. Start with the big guys, and work your way to the smaller ones.
,p>Pull your fridge away from the wall, but watch the icemaker water line, if you have one. Vacuum the refrigerator coils thoroughly, and clean the floor where the fridge was. Clean the floor and the back of the refrigerator and return it to its home. Don’t forget to clean the top!
Pull the oven away from the wall and vacuum the back of it, clean the backsplash, the floor and the back of the stove. Put the range back in place and then clean the top of the stove. Clean the top of the stove and remember to clean the bottom drawer.
Unplug all of your small appliances and place them on your kitchen table. Hit the empty counter tops with antibacterial spray and paper towels. Sponges tend to breed bacteria, so it’s best to avoid them.
Clean your small appliances before you put them back. Empty the crumb try from the toaster and bang the side to loosen any stuck crumbs, then wipe it down with a kitchen cleaner spray. Clean your other small appliances the same way, and then put them back on the counter top.
Professional cleaners agree that you should clean behind your small appliances weekly. How often to clean behind your large appliances is really up to you. Some do it once a year, others every 6 months and some even monthly.
